Westminister Bridge

The bridge lays its span across the water

As the House arched its reach across empire

It bends over deeds past

Sweeping to sea to bed and accrete

The frame and steel of overlooking concrete

The burden and boast of quilted lives

Watching mute as the glide past

Denotes the washings of the land

The changing eye of morphing seasons

Burying unwanted memories of Acts

That chill the beating and throbbing heart

Of the great city the world pays homage

A hand on a slippery eel clasping

The electric power of life sparking
